CANA LLC Partners with DEFCON AI on US$115m Marine Corps Logistics Modernisation Programme

CANA LLC has joined DEFCON AI as a teaming partner on a five-year US Marine Corps Logistics Command and Control modernisation prototype agreement, bringing specialist logistics analytics, software expertise and operational knowledge to support next-generation fleet integration.

CANA LLC, a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), has teamed with DEFCON AI to support the US Marine Corps’ five-year US$115M Logistics Command and Control (LogC2) modernisation prototype agreement.

The partnership will see CANA provide foundational software expertise, Marine Corps logistics domain knowledge and field integration support as DEFCON AI acts as the software integration prime for Headquarters Marine Corps Installations & Logistics (HQMC I&L).

The collaboration is focused on advancing the Marine Corps’ Visual Integrated Tactical Logistics – Battlespace Management Aid (VITL-BMA), a platform designed to improve logistics planning, visibility and decision-making at the tactical edge.

CANA’s involvement in the programme began before the prototype agreement was established. The company developed the original user stories, integration logic and mission-critical mathematical engines supporting VITL-BMA, including Class I (Subsistence) and Class V(W) (Ground Ammunition) supply calculators that provide the analytical foundation of the system.

The company also delivered technical support for data architecture logic that enables the disaggregation of information from the Marine Corps Total Force Structure Management System (TFSMS), supporting Expeditionary Advanced Base Operations (EABO) mission planning.

As VITL-BMA transitions from an R&D capability into a formal Programme of Record under Programme Manager Marine Air Ground Task Force Command & Control (MAGTF C2), the initiative requires both advanced optimisation technology and deep operational understanding of Marine Corps logistics planning and execution.

“Getting VITL-BMA deployed rapidly means we can’t build software in a vacuum – evolution has to happen alongside real-world feedback from the Fleet. By pairing DEFCON AI’s software design expertise – proven by the advanced optimization and planning capabilities they delivered for Air Mobility Command – with CANA’s foundational knowledge of VITL-BMA and Marine Corps Logistics planning and execution, we are bridging the gap between the algorithm and the Marine directly at the tactical edge,” said Jesse Kemp, Director of Logistics Programs & Capabilities, CANA LLC

The partnership combines DEFCON AI’s experience in advanced optimisation and planning technologies with CANA’s established knowledge of Marine Corps logistics operations.

DEFCON AI’s previous work includes delivering optimisation and planning capabilities for Air Mobility Command, while CANA brings experience supporting military logistics challenges through analytics, operations research, programme management and supply chain solutions.

CANA is positioned to support fleet integration immediately, with personnel prepared to deploy to major Marine Corps training events and embed with key stakeholders including the Marine Corps Logistics Operations Group (MCLOG).

The company will support the design, implementation and execution of US Marine Corps fleet-wide training and support programmes, helping validate VITL-BMA capabilities under real-world operational conditions.

The collaboration highlights the growing role of AI-enabled optimisation, integrated data platforms and advanced analytics in modern military logistics environments, where speed, accuracy and operational visibility are increasingly critical to mission success.
