Empower AI has acquired Highlight Technologies to expand its artificial intelligence capabilities and strengthen delivery of cloud-enabled mission solutions across US federal agencies.
The acquisition broadens Empower AI’s expertise in DevSecOps, AI, data management and cloud modernization while increasing support for Digital Transformation initiatives across the US Departments of State and Homeland Security. It also combines Empower AI’s accelerator-based approach for scalable AI deployment with Highlight Technologies’ experience delivering mission-focused IT services in complex government environments.
Highlight Technologies, founded in 2008 and based in Fairfax, Virginia, has developed capabilities in mission modernization, data-driven decision support and rapid-response delivery for defense, civilian and homeland security customers. Its AIDE (AI Data Integration & Orchestration Engine) was recently assessed as ‘Awardable’ in the US Department of Defense Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office’s Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace, creating additional opportunities within the defense sector.
Highlight Technologies CEO Aarish Gokaldas described the businesses as “a natural fit”, saying Empower AI’s AI-first strategy combined with Highlight’s agency expertise would create the scale to deliver greater impact for government missions.
Empower AI CEO Jeff Bohling said the acquisition adds “exceptional talent, proven technology, and deep agency relationships” that will expand the company’s ability to serve federal customers through faster deployments, stronger interoperability and broader AI adoption.
The transaction became effective on July 7, 2026. Financial terms were not disclosed. Combined organisation is expected to strengthen delivery across defense and civilian agencies, enhance efficiency, support innovation and position Empower AI for continued growth in federal artificial intelligence markets.
